| Born - June 9, 1929 Died - December 25, 1954 Birthplace - Memphis, Tennessee Johnny Ace has become a legend of almost mythical proportions. He died young just as his music career was really beginning to take off. A talented charismatic performer he hit Beale street just at the beginning of its recording hey day. He recorded at Sun Records in 1952 but those recordings were never released. Worth a small fortune if they were ever to be found.
