With the last name being Allison, Bernard proves, on this, his
fourth album, that like his father, Luther, he is a strong force
to be reckoned with. While he was home from Paris, Bernard took
some time off from visiting his mother, in Chicago in 1996,to
record this blistering set of blues originals peppered with some
great cover tunes. With the influences he had growing up, such as
his dad, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi
Hendrix, and Eric Clapton, Bernard has woven together the best of
both worlds to create his own brand of blues that rock!
Luther described his son's guitar playing as "Dangerous" and at a
young 32 years old, Bernard is proving him right. Aided by one
of the finest bass and drums duos playing today, Greg Rzab, and
Ray "Killer" Allison who are currently Buddy Guy's steady kickin'
sidemen, Bernard also brings in the disc's producer, Ron Levy on
B-3, veteren Chicago studio cats, Will Crosby on guitar, Matthew
Skoller on Harp, and Ray C. Drain, vocals. Bernard Allison more
than handles the role of singer, guitarist and bandleader.
