Born in Somerville, TN, and cousin of Elmore James, James
(Homesick James) Williams had a real good start in the blues and
went on to tour with cousin Elmore on and off from `54 to `58
playing guitar on several recordings of the best songs like,
"The Sky is Crying", "Dust my Blues" and "Roll and Tumble".
This disc is full of down-home acoustic slide guitar with just the right
accompaniment; bass, drums and sparce harp. All of which, producer/
engineer/ guitarist Fred James, seems to tie together like an
after-hours impromptu blues set. Very satisfying indeed.
